Pair of 1940's Vintage Mannequin Heads  

 

We were thrilled when we recently came across this pair of worn and creepy mannequin heads. The male head is approximately 11" tall and is made of plaster with a wood base and a metal bracket on the bottom. The female head measures approximately 14" tall and is made of composition material with a hole on the bottom. She was probably manufactured as a hat or jewelry counter store display. Both heads probably date back to the late 1940's or early 1950's

1947 Sinbad The Sailor Large Movie Display

 

This banner style movie poster was made to promote the release of the 1947 film "Sinbad the Sailor" starring Douglas Fairbanks Jr and Maureen O'Hara. This oversized poster measures 5 1/2 feet in length and 18 inches tall. The poster has been professionally framed and makes quite an impressive display. The colors are brighter in person than they appear in the photographs.

Rollarena Event Board San Leandro CA  

 

The Rollarena was a classic roller skating rink built sometime after World War II in San Leandro, California. The rink became the happening place during the mid 1960's when Bill Quarry began booking rock and roll bands. Among the bands to play at the Rollarena were the Yardbirds, Jefferson Airplane, Every Brothers, Buffalo Springfield, Byrds, Jimi Hendrix, Neil Diamond and Van Morrison's first American gig with his band "Them" The front of the board is hinged so event notices and posters could be placed inside. Overall measurements are 30" x 48". Unfortunately, the rink closed in the 1990's and was torn down a few years ago.
